I'm an attorney and a partisan Democrat. I confess to having a point of view and an ideology. But I also don't like when people reach conclusions first and get the evidence second; my humble goal is to have more intellectual honesty than that.

John McCain scorecard

John McCain was on Meet the Press yesterday. Here's a transcript.

I disagreed with him about Iraq, Dick Durbin, Terry Schiavo and Antonin Scalia.

I agreed with him about increasing military pay, due process for detainees at Gitmo, stem cell research, the need for a moderate nominee to the Supreme Court, global warming/CAFE standards, ethanol, and immigration. Although it didn't come up in the interview, I also agree with McCain's push for campaign finance reform, drug re-importation, and opposition to Bush's tax cuts.

Sure, the guy campaigned for Bush. But on the issues, he's not much different than Hillary Clinton. I'm not so sure that I would vote against him if I had the chance.

I still don't understand how Bush got McCain to campaign for him. They must have something really good on him...
